Perfect pitch is the ability to recognize or reproduce a specific musical note. Pianists who have perfect pitch can identify the key of a musical piece by ear, analyze chords more easily, "visualize" notes in their mind, and develop the ability to improvise. Vocalists who have perfect pitch can also vocalize specific notes, "on-demand".
Relative pitch produces similar perfect pitch abilities, but utilizes a "reference key" to identify surrounding notes.
